While TMJ / TMD is commonly seen in adults, it can be present in children as well.
Most noticeable we see bruxism/tooth grinding in children. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. Bruxism is a medical term for grinding or clenching of the teeth and is actually classified as a sleep movement disorder. Children do not grown out of this like commonly thought in the past. It is a hallmark sign of OSA and can begin the tretoraous path of a lifetime of TMD and orthopedic development problems.
